In google photos and drive you must be sign in with google account.
In google blogger or blogspot you can sign in with google account but it also allow you to enter any other email address.

I just explained what is google account and its uses and also i admired about its popularity. But why every website is now preferring google account rather than its competitors like microsoft and other .

You can simply add recovery email and phone number to reset password whenever you forgot it. It means you don't need to memorize such hard password if you have added a recovery email or phone numbers .

Its a very important security feature which protect your account from hackers . Hackers cannot simply try brute force or password guessing to hack your account . Because they will be send OTP ( one time password ) to sms or voice or any other way to confirm that its you .

No it is not compulsory to create a google account but I will recommend you to create one because as we live in Internet world we must be familiar with every aspect of internet and believe me it worth because it very handy and useful during authentication of different websites.
What information do i need to create a google account?
In order to create a google you just need your personal details like your Name , birthdate , Gender etc and just by filling all this you can create it.
Should i use real name while creating google account ?
No it is not compulsory to use the the real name as Google will never know about this cheating. According to Google you should use your real name but i have seen many people use their nickname or even brand name for business.
So it clearifies that you can even use fake name but i won't recommend because its a kind of moral crime.
